Kuwaiti PM on first visit to Iraq since Gulf War

Kuwait's prime minister is making his first visit to Iraq since Saddam Hussein's 1990 invasion of his country.

Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheik Nasser Al Mohammed Al Sabah arrived in Baghdad on Wednesday.

Al Sabah is to meet with senior Iraqi officials, including Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. The talks are expected to focus on Baghdad's outstanding reparations owed Kuwait from the 1990 Iraqi invasion as well as the deadly clash between Iraqi fishermen and the Kuwaiti coast guard on Monday in the waters separating both countries.

One Kuwaiti coast guard official was killed in the shootout.

The waters where the incident is believed to have happened have been disputed for years following the Gulf War.
