Kuwaiti police seize 129 in Eid raids

Kuwaiti authorities seized 129 people involved in gambling and prostitution in massive raids launched by more than 100 policemen in various areas during Eid Al Fitr, newspapers in the Gulf emirate reported on Thursday.

The arrested included 82 men and 47 women from Kuwait and other countries and some of them are gays, the papers said.

“Some of those arrested hold senior posts in the public and private sectors…expatriates caught during the raids will be deported,” Alanba newspaper said, adding that one policeman was stabbed during the raids.
