Maid gives birth in airport toilet

An Indonesian housemaid gave birth to a baby boy at a toilet in a Saudi airport after she tried to abort the infant, a newspaper in the Gulf kingdom reported on Wednesday.

The 29-year-old maid was screaming in pain inside the female toilets at Dammam airport in eastern Saudi Arabia, attracting curious women who told the police, 'Al Riyadh' said.

Police called a doctor who happened to be at the airport to save the maid after she failed to abort the baby, it said.

“The doctor saved both the mother and the baby…she gave birth to a baby boy inside the toilet…she was later taken to hospital.”

The paper said police would investigate the maid to determine if the baby is legitimate.
