A Saudi man is accusing a local hospital of infecting his wife with Aids following a Caesarian operation, triggering a probe by health authorities in the Gulf Kingdom.
The husband said his wife began suffering from pains in various parts of her body after delivering a baby at a government hospital in the southern town of Bisha.
He said that post-delivery tests showed she was infected with the deadly Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (Aids).
Okaz newspaper quoted Health Department Director Tarrad Al Salouli as saying he had ordered investigation into the case while officials at the hospital said they believed the woman had the virus before undergoing the operation.
Tyre burst kills three Saudi cops
Three Saudi policemen were killed when their patrol car shot off the road and overturned after a tyre burst on a motorway in the Gulf Kingdom.
The lieutenant, a corporal and a policeman were on a routine patrol on the motorway in the western town of Kharma when a tyre of their vehicle burst.
“As a result, the vehicle shot off the road and overturned many times, killing the three policemen,” Okaz daily said.
