Man calls in cops on open ATM

A Saudi who wanted to withdraw money from a teller machine in the Gulf Kingdom was surprised to see that its front door is open. The machine was full as it has just been supplied with cash.

Instead of delving his hand into the pot and filling his pockets, the 50-year-old man simply took his mobile phone out of his pocket and dialled the police.

“The machine contained large sums of money as it has just been supplied with cash by the bank,” Alriyadh newspaper said on Saturday.

“This man has set an example in sincerity and integrity when he found the front door of the machine open and phoned the police.”
The paper said police came to the spot and informed the bank about the open machine in a public place in the southwestern province of Hail.

The bank said their employee had forgotten to lock the door when he fed cash into the machine, the paper said, adding no money had been stolen.
