Saudi Arabia: A Saudi man was killed in a road accident just after his wife gave birth to a baby girl at hospital in the Gulf kingdom.
Turki Al Asmari had driven from work straight to hospital when he was told his wife delivered .
“He saw his new daughter and his wife before returning to work…on his way back, he was killed in a road accident,” Al Saudeh newspaper said in a report from the southern town of Abha.
Just before his death, Asmari replied briefly to well wishers on his Twitter page by saying: “Praise be to God, the most Gracious, the most Merciful.”
Married man spurned by lover kills himself
Colombo: A married man in Sri Lanka stabbed himself to death on Wednesday after being rejected by his mistress.
According to local media reports, the 34-year-old – a father of one- was in a relationship with another woman after his wife had gone abroad.
On Wednesday, after he had an argument with his mistress he headed to see his daughter.
Later he returned to his lover and once again picked up an argument with her and then picked up a knife and stabbed himself.
Police is investigating the incident.
Woman swallows chargesheet
Colombo: A female suspect, accused of having heroin in her possession, tore the pages of the police record book and swallowed them.
According to reports in Sri Lankan media, a police officer noted down her details after taking her into custody.
He then asked her to sign the sheet, which she declined.
Later as the officer was reading out the charges he had written, she jumped forward and snatched the book form the officer.
In an instant she tore the page and swallowed it, leaving the officer with no time to react.
A complaint had been lodged at the Colombo Magistrate Court regarding the incident.
