A Saudi man gouged his wife’s eye with a chair and divorced her in front of their six children following a heated argument, Kabar daily reported on Saturday.
The man, in his 50s, lunged at his wife and smashed the chair on her face, severely damaging one eye, the paper said.
“Instead of taking her to hospital, he divorced her in front of their six children…the wife’s relatives took her to hospital and informed police.”
The husband from the central town of Taif was arrested and will stand trial, the Arabic language daily said.
