Man tortures stepson to beg for Dh150 a day

A Yemeni man in Saudi Arabia used a metal cable to torture his eight-year-old stepson to force him to beg and bring him at least SR150 (Dh150).

The boy was begging in the street in the southern Saudi town of Bisha when a man noticed that he had bruises on his back.

After pressing him, the boy told the man that his mother’s husband lashes him with a metal wire to force him to beg and bring him SR150-200 every day.

“The man took the boy to the police to report his step father but the boy refused because he was scared of being tortured again,” Sada Arabic language newspaper said without making clear if the boy finally went to the police.
