A Saudi young man trying to outwit the Gulf Kingdom’s Islamic police guarding a female concert donned a woman’s traditional abaya (gown) and sneaked into the party. Although he was completely covered up, his manly walk exposed him.
Members of the feared Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice curiously watched the black-clad figure sauntering into the woman’s function marking the return of King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz from a treatment trip abroad.
“They were suspicious about the way that presumed woman walked…when they came near him, he ran away…but they captured him and found that he was a man dressed like a woman with the aim of mixing with women in the celebration,” Sabq newspaper said in a report from the central town of Buraiydah.
