Mers effect: No kissing at this Saudi wedding

Women going to a wedding in Saudi Arabia were asked not to exchange kisses during the party as fears of the Coronavirus, known as Mers, continues to sweep through the conservative Gulf kingdom, press reports said on Sunday.

Invitation cards sent by the groom’s mother to women in the northwestern Saudi town of Tabuk carried a handwritten remark asking them not to kiss at the wedding.

“Please do not be embarrassed by this request. You are asked not to exchange kisses during the wedding,” said the card, a copy of which was published by ‘Sada’ daily
