Mom of five wakes up after one year in coma

A Saudi mother of five children woke up this week after going into coma for nearly a year because of a road accident, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The woman was admitted to hospital in the Eastern port of Dammam suffering from fractures all over her body and brain hemorrhage after she was involved in a major road mishap in the city in 2013, Sabq said.

It quoted Dr Bashir Al Rababeia, who supervised her treatment, as saying the woman lived on supporting machines before they were removed this week.

“She is now able to get out of her bed and move around with the help of a stick…her condition has largely improved,” Rababeia said.
