Mysterious chicken massacre in Saudi

A  YouTube film published in a Saudi newspaper has revealed poultry carnage involving the burning alive of thousands of chicken in the Gulf Kingdom and prompting authorities to open an investigation.

The two-minute film, published by the Arabic language daily 'Al Madina' on Sunday, showed a large number of the chicken have been massacred in the fire while only a handful of them have survived but appeared so dizzy to move.

The paper said the massacre took place at a farm nearly 70 km north of the western Saudi town of Medinah and that authorities have launched an investigation.

“We are investigating this case and will present a report to a special committee to decide on the proper punishment of those who are involved,” said Ibrahim Al Hujaili, farming section director at the department of agriculture in Medinah.
