Over 871,000 traffic offences in Kuwait in 90 days

Drivers in Kuwait committed more than 871,000 offences, mainly speeding, in just three months, a whopping daily average of 9,677 violations.

Police data for the third quarter showed nearly 803,000 offences involved speeding hunted by hundreds of police cameras deployed on the roads of the super-rich emirate.

The figures showed 729 offences involved jumping the red lights while more than 6,500 included wrong parking. The report in local newspaper said 9,892 cars were impounded in connection with such violations.

Kuwait, a member of the six-nation Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), has a population of around 3.2 million.
