Over-weight schoolboy breaks pipes, and leg, escaping school

An overweight Saudi school boy escaping his school class by climbing down the water pipes broke his leg after one of the pipe snapped under his heavy weight.

School boys and teachers rushed outside after hearing the boy screaming of pain as he lay on the ground in the back yard of the school in the southern town of Aqeeq.

“The school management called an ambulance, which took the boy to hospital with a fractured leg. Teachers said it was not the first time this boy tried to flee his class,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sabq said.

Driver hits police car after getting traffic ticket  

A Saudi driver rammed his vehicle into a police car after a traffic police man issued a ticket against that vehicle for speeding, a newspaper reported on Tuesday.

The driver, in his 20s, had refused to stop when the police man waved to him, triggering a chase in the streets of the western town of Taif.

“When the driver stopped, the police man gave him a ticket and drove away…the driver sped behind the police car and rammed his vehicle into its rear,” Okaz daily said.

It said the police man was injured in the accident and taken to hospital while the driver was arrested by other police patrols.
