Rat poison in 281 tonnes of rice in Saudi

Saudi health inspectors busted a large store containing nearly 281 tonnes of rice and found insects, bird droppings and rat poison in the stuff.

The inspectors, who have been watching the activities at the store in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah for several days, also found that bad rice bags were placed just next to the other bags which were to be sold.

‘Ajel’ newspaper said the inspectors decided to destroy all the rice bags and impose a heavy fine on store owners.
