The Yemen National Army troop and the popular resistance forces have made significant progress in fighting on the ground against Houthi rebels and Saleh’s forces in Ta’aiz and Ma’arib, reported ‘Al Ittihad’ daily.

According to sources, the forces captured the strategic Al Mukha port - on the Red Sea, west of Taiz province, the second most important city in the north.

The intense air bombardment by the coalition forces along with support from the navy and popular resistance forces on the ground forced the rebels to flee the port.

The strikes launched on Monday targeted rebel sites and Saleh's forces at the port and the coastal defense camp.

A rebel boat loaded with arms and ammunition was struck when leaving Al Mukha port, the report added.

Meanwhile, an official confirmed the arrival of Arab coalition’s vessel at Al Mukha port. He said that the air strikes and naval operations along with efforts by the resistance forces cleared the path for Arab Coalition to head to Zabab town, south of Al Mukha.
