Satanic drawings found in deserted mosque

Saudi authorities decided to demolish a deserted mosque after its internal walls were found daubed with inscriptions believed to belong to Satanists.

Parts of the old mosque near the southern town of Abha had already collapsed because of lack of maintenance as authorities had decided to demolish it last year to give way to road development.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police, discovered the graffiti while on a routine patrol in the area and informed the Ministry of Islamic Affairs.

“The Ministry decided to demolish the mosque immediately after its walls were found to be daubed with Satanists drawings that violate Islamic teachings,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Sharq said.
