A Saudi woman has been admitted to hospital with severed artery after her brother hit her on the hand with a sharp object following a rift over a popular Syrian TV drama, the Saudi Arabic language 'Alyoum' daily said on Sunday.
The unidentified woman, in her 30s, was watching 'Bab Al Hara' series when her brother used the TV remote control to switch to another channel.
A quarrel ensued and her brother hit her with a tree cutter on her hand, resulting in the severance of her artery, the paper said.
The woman was still in hospital in a stable condition while police have arrested her brother, who confessed to attacking his sister.
'Bab Al Hara', which has been aired during Ramadan for the past five years, is one of the most popular Arabic TV series, which is watched in all regional states.
