A Saudi court sentenced a local male nurse to one year in prison and ordered him lashed 80 times after he was caught with a female nurse in an isolated place.

The Gulf kingdom’s religious cops were on a routine patrol near the hospital in the capital Riyadh when they saw the couple alone in a nearby place.

“When they checked the couple, they found that they are not related. The two were arrested on charges of having an illicit meeting,” Al Jazeira daily said without mentioning whether the female nurse was also sentenced.

Bootlegger in obscene act with boy in Saudi

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police stalking an Ethiopian liquor dealer for nearly a week were shocked when they caught him in an obscene act with a teenage boy.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice had expected to seize the dealer with liquor bottles but instead found him with a boy.

The Commission members had watched the man for nearly a week before spotting him going into a deserted farm in the southern town of Khamis Mushait at night.

“When they raided the farm, they found him in an obscene act with a teenager.

“The boy fled but the man was arrested. Commission members found with him only five liquor bottles,” Sada newspaper said.

Molester jailed 18 months, to get 300 lashes

A bus driver told a Saudi court he could not help it when he kissed and touched the body of a 12-year-old girl in his bus.

The judge took it as a confession and sentenced him to 18 months in prison and ordered him lashed 300 times in a public place.

Police had arrested the driver following a report by the girl’s family that he kissed her and touched sensitive parts of her body while she was on her own in the bus.

The family later dropped the case against the driver but the court in the eastern town of Dammam sentenced him and also barred him from his job.
