Saudi ends life in second suicide attempt

A Saudi man ended his life by hanging himself at his house in his second suicide attempt in the Gulf kingdom, a newspaper reported on Saturday.

The man, an education employee, was found hanging at his home in the southern Saudi province of Jazan and police said they were investigating his motives.

Ajel Arabic language newspaper said the man shot himself a few months ago in a suicide attempt but doctors saved his life.

“After the first suicide attempt, he suffered from paralysis but his condition started to improve later…police are still investigating the case,” it said.

A mechanic in his 60s hanged himself inside his garage in Saudi Arabia and the stench led to the discovery of the body inside the locked place.

Workers at nearby garages phoned the police to report the foul smell coming from the locked workshop in the central Saudi town of Dawadmi, newspapers said.

Police found the man hanging by a rope tied to the ceiling and investigation later showed the man had committed a suicide a few days ago.

The papers did not identify the victim.
