Saudi furore over girls pictures with 'Mr Bean' lookalike

A Pakistani man who is popular for his stark resemblance of British actor Rowan Atkinson, better known as 'Mr Bean', triggered a furore in Saudi Arabia after he was photographed with Saudi girls in pictures that appeared on social networks.

Mohammed Asef, nicknamed Mr Bean, was visiting a cultural festival in the southern Saudi town of Abha along with the world’s tallest man when they were surrounded with girls demanding photographs with them.

“Saudi girls race to be photographed with Mr Bean. Many viewers of the pictures criticised the girls and this man for not respecting local traditions which ban any meeting between women and foreign men or vice-versa,” the 'Sada' Arabic language daily said in a report which carried a picture showing Mr Bean lookalike with a veiled Saudi girl.
