Saudi hunter slips, kills self with gun

A Saudi man on a hunting trip in the Gulf Kingdom accidentally killed himself when his gun fired after he slipped down, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

Abdul Rahman Al Zahrani, 28, was with four friends on a hunting trip in the rugged southern town of Baha when he slipped over a rock and fell down.

“Friends told police his gun accidentally fired and the bullet hit him in the left part of the chest,” Sabq Arabic language newspaper said, adding that the man was rushed to hospital but died on the way.

Man kills ageing dad with tree branch

A Saudi man broke a branch from a nearby tree, went back into his house and clubbed his father on the head, killing him instantly.

He then dragged the body to the bathroom before dragging it back to the sitting room and then to the father’s bed room.

Police, quoted by Sada newspaper, said the 32-year-old son confessed to murdering his father, 81, with a heavy piece of wood at their house in the southern town of Baha. They did not elaborate on his motives but indicated he could be mentally ill.
