A Saudi journalist and her Filipina nanny’s heart-warming reunion after long 22 years is nothing less than a fairy tale.

Rawan Radwan, whose story has gone viral on Filipino social media sites, said the meeting was an epic moment, which she will never forget, according to arabnews.com

“Seeing her face as I walked towards her, I could see genuine love and I felt the same way,” said the journalist.

While, Marie Luningning Bebit was quoted as saying, “I am grateful for everything Rawan and her family had given me before and is giving me now.”

Local Filipino show ‘Kapuso Mo Jessica Soho,’ [‘One at heart’] organised a ceremony to recognise the accomplishment of Bebit, who is now the only female town police officer, in combatting violence against women and children.

The host of the show said, it is great to see people who are kind to domestic workers. “It highlights how mothers leave their children behind and go to Saudi Arabia in search of a good job to provide for them,” she added.

According to Rawan, Marie still looks the same, only with shorter hair. “She has the same smile, the same kindness in her eyes and I still see the nanny who has lived with us for years under one roof,” arabnews website quoted her as saying.

Rawan also expressed her happiness in getting an opportunity to learn about a new culture and community.

Rawan and Bebit have pledged to stay in touch and make up for the years they were apart.

Sayidaty magazine sponsored Rawan’s trip from Jeddah to Manila, while she was also given a complimentary stay at the luxury Fairmont Makati Hotel in Manila. Touched by the story, even Saudi Arabian Airlines offered to sponsor her air tickets.
