King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia poured praise on women while joking about his ailment when he received local officials and citizens coming to wish him well.

Saudi official media reported this week the King, aged nearly 86 years, was suffering from a slight health setback but that he was well.

The reports said later the Monarch had Sciatica or herniated disc. In Arabic, the name of this ailment sounds like “women’s nerve”.

“I don’t know where I got this from,” the King joked as he leaned on his stick while surrounded by scores of royal family members, officials and citizens.

“Some people say it is a slipped disc and others says it is a women’s nerve……we have not seen but only good things from women…I have no idea where did this nerve come from but I think it is a bad one….thank you for coming here and for your concern about my health.”

Sciatica is a symptom of a "pinched nerve" affecting one or more of the lower spinal nerves. The nerve might be pinched inside or outside of the spinal canal as it passes into the leg. Sciatica is caused by a herniated or slipped disc that results in pressure on a nerve root

Sciatic pain can be described as sharp, dull, burning, tingly, continuous, or intermittent and usually affects only one side of the body. It can radiate the entire length of the nerve, in some cases all the way down to the toes.
