Saudi plane in emergency landing

A Saudi Airlines passenger aircraft averted disaster when it made a safe emergency landing in Kuwait after the pilot noticed smoke in one of its engines, a newspaper said on Tuesday.

The pilot radioed the control tower at Kuwait’s international airport and informed them he would make an emergency landing, the Saudi Sharq Arabic language daily reported.

“The passengers aboard the aircraft escaped a disaster after smoke started to come out of the engine,“ it said.

“After the aircraft landed, Kuwaiti civil defence and fire fighters rushed to the scene and got all the passengers out safely…they also succeeded in dealing with the smoke,” the paper added without saying when the incident took place or how many passengers were aboard the aircraft.
