Saudi school is haunted: report

A girls’ school in Saudi Arabia is believed to be haunted after many of its students suffered from fits of fear and convulsions, prompting their families to take them to hospital, a newspaper in the Gulf kingdom reported on Wednesday.
 
Families also called on education authorities to send Islamic scholars urgently to the school in Shalayel village near the Western Medina town to reassure its students and work for “exorcising jinn and ghosts haunting the building”, ‘Ajel’ said.
 
“We have decided to investigate the issue after receiving reports that many school girls have suffered from fits of horror and convulsions,” the paper said, quoting Medina education department spokesman Omar Barnawi.
 
“We will also send some scholars to the school…we want to tackle this strange issue urgently as we have been informed most students have stopped going to school.”
