Saudi woman gives birth to quintuplets

A Saudi woman has given birth to quintuplets although previous hospital tests had shown she was pregnant with triplets, the Saudi daily Al Yaoum reported on Friday.

The woman, in her 30s, gave birth to two males and three females in a premature Caesarean operation at a hospital in the eastern town of Qatif.

“Doctors at the hospital were surprised to see five babies as previous tests showed she was pregnant with three,” the paper said.

The five were born prematurely in the seven month of pregnancy and all of them are in a stable condition. They weigh between 840gm and 1.2 kg.
