Sheep sold for Dh356,000 in Saudi

A sheep was sold for SR360,000 (Dh356,000) in Saudi Arabia and its owner said it fetched the high prices because it is of a rare breed.

“This sheep is of a rare breed and is body and head are different from most other sheep,” said Mutaab Al Wathinani, who sold the sheep to another farmer.

Quoted by Al Hayat and Sada newspapers, he said he had bought the sheep for SR50,000 (Dh49,000) when it was around 10 days old.

The papers did not mention where Al Wathinani live in Saudi Arabia but said he owns a large number of sheep at his farm.

Sudanese shepherd killed by mad camel
 
A camel ran berserk and attacked his Sudanese shepherd before trampling him to death at his farm in Saudi Arabia, a newspaper reported on Monday.

Police investigating the incident were told by doctors at hospital in the southern town of Bisha that the man died of internal bleeding as a result of kicks by the camel.

“Police said the camel went mad and attacked the Sudanese…as he fell down, the camel kicked him many times and trampled on him, leading to his death,” a police spokesman said, quoted by Sada Arabic language daily.
