Sheep takes to the road ahead of sacrifice

Published

A sheep fled its Saudi owner and ventured into a busy street in the Gulf Kingdom as if to tell him it was not time for it to be sacrificed for Eid Al Adha.

A brief YouTube film showed the sheep trotting fast among cars on a busy street in the Saudi capital Riyadh as it was chased by its owner.

Local newspapers which published the film said it was a funny incident as it triggered laughter by the motorists just a day before the start of Eid Al Adha (feast of sacrifice). The race lasted for several minutes before some drivers got out of their cars and grabbed the fugitive, which was handed over to its owner.

The report made no reference whether it was a happy or sad ending but left it to the viewers to decide.

Egyptian farmer slaughters wolf instead of sheep on Eid

An Egyptian farmer slaughtered a wolf instead of a sheep on Eid Al Adha (feast of sacrifice) after seriously injuring the predator during a fight near his home. The farmer in the eastern town of Asna has just got out of bed to prepare for Eid when he came face to face with a wolf attacking his Eid sheep.

Newspaper said the wolf attacked the farmer who used a knife to kill the animal after a long fight during which he was also wounded. Instead of sacrificing the sheep, the farmer tied up the wolf and slaughtered it amidst applause and cheers by the residents, they said.
