Disgusting? Women smoking shisha

Shisha smoking by women at cafes in Bahrain is disgusting and such a habit also has a bad impact on their children, according to a newspaper in the Gulf kingdom.

The Arabic language daily Al Wasat said there was growing public controversy about women seen sitting at coffee shops with men and smoking shisha, adding that some of those women appear to be pregnant.

While some people believe that women are free to do so, most others see this habit as disgusting, the paper said.

“Smoking shisha by women has a bad impact on their children while it has harmful health effects on the infant in case the woman is pregnant,” it said.

“While some people see this as a personal freedom, most others believe this habit is disgusting and cannot be considered personal freedom.”
