Speeding car with faulty brakes stopped by bullet

Saudi police used their guns to fire at a car that was moving at high speed to stop the vehicle after its Kuwait driver reported its brakes no longer worked.

The man was driving his Caprice on the motorway between the capital Riyadh and the central town of Kharj at around 180 kph when the brake system went out of order.

Newspapers said the panicking driver phoned the police, who sent several patrols to clear the road ahead to prevent any accident.

“A patrol positioned on the road waited for the car to pass past it and fired at the back glass..…the brake system suddenly started working and the car came to a standstill,” the Arabic language daily Sabq said.
