Thieves steal cash machine with $175,000

Thieves using a truck and thick ropes extracted a cash teller machine in Saudi Arabia in the middle of the day and fled with nearly SR654,000 ($175,000), a newspaper in the Gulf Kingdom reported on Wednesday.

The thieves paid no attention to the large crowd that gathered to watch their daring operation in the western port of Jubail, Alwatan said.

“They forced out the cash machine and dragged it away before the eyes of the scores of people who had gathered in that area…the machine belongs to Riyadh Bank and it is believed to contain SR654,000 ,” it said.
