Thieves switch to rape after seeing woman alone

Three teenage burglars who broke into a house in Saudi Arabia for stealing changed their mind and raped its landlady, Alriyadh daily reported on Monday.

The two Saudi and one Somali, aged between 17 and 20 years, were armed with knives when they entered after midnight and came face to face with the Arab woman at her house in the Red Sea port of Jeddah, the newspaper said.

“The three had intended to burgle the house as they thought no one was there….but when they saw the woman, whose husband was away, they changed their mind and decided to rape her…they threatened her with knives and took turns in raping the woman before fleeing.”

The paper said the victim’s husband phoned the police after he returned home and found his wife in a very bad condition.

Police tracked down and arrested the youths based on the description provided by the victim, the newspaper added.
