Tramadol pills hidden in frozen meat

Saudi airport customs inspectors seized more than 7,000 tramadol pills hidden in frozen meat brought by a passenger from another country.

Suspecting the passenger was carrying banned items, the inspectors at the airport in the Western Red sea port of Yanbu searched his baggage but found no such items, Sabq newspaper said.

When they searched frozen meat he was carrying, they found more than 7,000 tramadol pills hidden ‘expertly’ inside the stuff, it said without mentioning where the passenger had come from.

35,800 smuggled bottles found in spaghetti

Saudi customs authorities seized nearly 35,800 liquor bottles hidden inside two spaghetti shipments at the border with the UAE.

Customs inspectors found around 16,900 liquor bottles in spaghetti boxes transported by a truck that tried to cross the border into the Gulf kingdom through Al Bataha area.

Another shipment containing 18,900 bottles was seized on another truck heading for Saudi Arabia through that border point on the same day, Sabq newspaper said.
