The criminal court in Kuwait today began the trial proceeding for 29 defendants on charges of being linked to the Imam Al-Sadiq Mosque's blast in June, local media reported.

The charges against the defendants include use of explosives, incitement to commit crime, and affiliation to a banned group that adopts extremist views which contradicts the state's policies.

The attack, which occurred in Kuwait City on June 26th, left 26 people killed and 227 others injured.
