Video: Two Saudi religious cops held following deadly chase

Saudi Arabia’s feared religious police arrested two of its members following a deadly chase that resulted in the killing of a Saudi man and the injury of his friend.

The Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice came under pressure to make the arrests after the incident went on social networks and caused public furor in the conservative Gulf Kingdom this week.

Eye witnesses, quoted by Saudi dailies, said a four-wheel patrol car belonging to the Commission banged into the chased car on top of a bridge in the capital Riyadh, causing the car to plunge down and killing its Saudi driver. His friend was seriously injured but was pulled out by passers by and rushed to hospital.

Newspapers have not mentioned the reason for that chase.
