Wife seeks divorce from 'smoking' husband

An Arab wife in Ras Al Khaimah is demanding divorce from her husband on the grounds he endangers her health by his heavy smoking, a newspaper said on Tuesday.

The wife filed for a divorce in court, which asked the reconciliation and guidance section to try and tackle the problem, the semi-official daily 'Al Ittihad' said.

"The wife is insisting on divorce…she says that her husband never stops smoking and wakes up in the middle of night to light a cigarette," the paper said.

"She said this is endangering her health as she sometimes goes into a coughing fit because he smokes next to her…her husband said he is not willing to stop smoking."
