Woman barred from hospital delivers in car

A Saudi woman had her baby inside her husband’s car after she was barred from a local hospital in the grounds there were no vacant beds.

The woman was rushed by her husband to the King Abdul Aziz Hospital in the Western Red Sea port of Jeddah after she went into labour, Sabq newspaper said.

But doctors refused to admit her because there was no vacant bed, prompting her husband to put her back in the car and rush to another hospital.

“The baby could not wait as the woman delivered in the car….her husband and his sister who was with them helped her deliver a boy just before they reached the second hospital,” the paper said.
