A Saudi woman who gave up trying to stop a cab in the busy capital Riyadh finally resorted for help to a policeman who happened to be in that area. Smiling, he quickly managed to stop a taxi and insisted on paying the fare for her.
“Please let me pay. Don’t deprive me from doing this favour so I will be rewarded by God the Almighty,” the cop told the woman, after she objected to him paying.
As she got into the cab, she stealthily glanced at the cop’s name and number on the badge on his chest and thanked him again.
“When she was home, she phoned the cop’s boss and told him what he had done for her. She said that she felt it was her duty to report such a noble act by a policeman,” the Saudi Arabic language daily 'Ajel' said.
“The boss thanked the woman. The next day, Lt General Othman bin Nasser Al Muhrej, Director of Saudi Arabia’s General Security, summoned the policeman to his office and honoured him for his behavior.”
