Woman to get 120 lashes for stabbing husband

A Saudi wife will be lashed 120 times for stabbing her husband in the chest following a dispute over money, Kabar daily said on Thursday.

Maddened by his wife’s continuous moaning about not having enough household money, the husband yelled at her and slapped her in the face at their house in the western Red Sea port of Jeddah, the paper said.

“She rushed to the kitchen and got a knife…she stabbed him in the chest, causing severe bleeding…he was then taken to the hospital,” it said.

“A court in Jeddah sentenced the woman to five months in prison and to 120 lashes in two sessions…but the woman filed a complaint against her husband demanding him to pay her alimony and the court is to set a monthly sum.”
