Restaurant shut after three kids fall ill

A restaurant in Dibba-Fujairah was shut down and fined as three kids who ate there were rushed to a hospital after suffering from food poisoning.

The kids, who are GCC nationals, are in stable condition now. They were transferred to Dibba-Fujairah Hospital after their condition initially worsened, Gulf Today reported.

The Dibba-Fujairah Municipality officials visited the eatery following the incident and found several violations, including unhygienic storage of meat. The restaurant was reportedly shut down for not adhering to municipality standards and its owner has been fined.

Engineer Hassan al Yamahi, General Directorate of Dibba-Fujairah Municipality, said that the hospital had reported the case to the municipality after the children had been admitted.
