Saudi Eid holidays: 16-day break

Saudi Arabia will give its civil servants a 16-day holiday to mark Eid Al Adha, which is expected to start later this month, newspapers reported on Sunday.

The holiday will begin on Thursday October 18th and end on Saturday November 3, they said, quoting a statement by the Saudi Ministry of Civil Service.

More than two million government employees will benefit from the holiday to mark Eid Al Adha, which is expected to start on October 26.

It will be preceded by three-day annual Muslem Haj (pilgrimage) in the Gulf kingdom.

The newspapers did not make clear how many days off the private sector would be given on that occasion.
