The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Sharjah Police arrested three Ethiopians for breaking into cars and stealing valuables.

Police confiscated 11 smartphones, branded watches, perfumes, ladies bags, wallets as well cash in different currencies from the suspects.

Police swung into action after receiving several complaints from motorists about their belongings inside cars being stolen. They discovered that the modus operandi of all the cases were similar.

CID officials set out a vigil and caught one of the suspects red-handed.

He confessed and led police to his two accomplices. With the help of Ajman Police, the other two were arrested.

Meanwhile, police confiscated the stolen items. Some were hidden in the ceiling and some in a hole dug into the wall of one of the rooms in their apartment.

One of the suspects has a criminal background, having been involved in an earlier robbery.

All the three have been handed over to the Public Prosecution in Sharjah.

Police urged motorists not to leave valuables inside their car.
