Sheena Bora murder: Indrani 'admits'… ex-husband did it

Mumbai Police now claim that prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukherjea, has in fact claimed that it was her ex-husband Sanjiv Khanna who actually strangled Sheena Bora in a bylane behind National College, Bandra.

Driver Shyam Rai is accused of holding the girl’s legs during the strangling.

The police are putting the entire case together before they present the three accused in court.

The police theory so far us likely to be as follows.

The three – Indrani, Sanjiv and Shyam - picked up Sheena from her college, took her into a bylane and strangled her.

Then they took the body to Peter Mukherjea’s house in Worli and kept her there for the day.

The next day, they decked up Sheena.

Indrani apparently made her hair and even put lipstick on the girl’s face to ensure that people thought that everything was alright.

Her body was then put in a suitcase and burnt on location.

Indrani’s lawyer who was finally given time to meet her on Friday for the first time ever, however, denied that she made any confession.

Peter Mukherjea was picked up by the cops for questioning for a third day.

Siddharth Das, Indrani’s first live-in partner was also brought in for further questioning.

Indrani’s other daughter from her marriage with Sanjiv Khanna – Nidhie was also brought in for questioning.

Skull match

Police have now said that the digital reconstruction of the body’s face has been done with that of the skull and other elements found and it does seem to match Sheena Bora’s. The forensic department of Nair Hospital did confirm that the body belongs to a girl aged between 20-25 which was Sheena’s age at the time of death.

However, sources in the forensic department added that a DNA test was imperative to prove that it is Sheena’s body.

Indrani’s statements and behavior over the years have been a history of lies.

Peter Mukherjea also did a volte face earlier about when he was informed that Sheena was Indrani’s daughter and not her sister. He changed the date and time.

Now the third time around, he has informed the police that it was his son Rahul who had informed him that Sheena was Indrani’s daughter and not her sister.

Peter apparently also told cops that he and Indrani would fight every time Sheena’s topic came up.

Interestingly, Rahul Mukherjea’s claim that he wanted a police complaint registered has also been negated by the Worli police.
