Sheikh Mohammed to open 5th FNC session

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai will open on Thursday the 5th ordinary session of the Federal National Council's 14th legislative chapter.

Their Highnesses the Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers of the emirates, ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, senior state officials and military officers will be present at the ceremony, which will include the opening remarks of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and a speech by FNC Speaker Abdul Aziz Abdullah Al Ghurair.

In a statement issued to mark the occasion, Al Ghurair hailed the support, attention and patronage extended to the FNC by the wise leadership of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates.

Earlier, Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Tuesday expressed his confidence in local media in keeping pace with the latest developments locally, regionally and internationally, with accuracy and objectivity.

On receiving Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Public Works and Chairman of National Media Council (NMC) at Dubai Ruler's court, Sheikh Mohammed noted that the media complements the roles of institutions in highlighting the developmental achievements of the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed wished Sheikh Hamdan success in his function as a Chairman of NMC.

Present were Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Culture and Arts Authority, and other high ranking officials.

Sheikh Mohammed also toured the offices of Dubai Ruler's Court, where he was briefed about the interior designs of the court's building, overlooking Dubai Creek.

He was impressed with the new arrangements of the offices and departments of the emiri court.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied during his inspection tour by Sheikh Hamdan, Sheikh Maktoum, other sheikhs and officials.

He performed afternoon prayers (Zohr prayers) at the court's mosque.
