Sheikh Mohammed tours Cityscape

The Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Tuesday toured the 15th Cityscape Global real estate exhibition which began on Tuesday at the Dubai World Trade Centre and will conclude on September 8.

Some 272 exhibitors from more than 30 countries (68 per cent from the UAE) are showcasing their projects at the show which stretches over an area of 41,000 square metres.

In remarks he made during the tour, Sheikh Mohammed expressed his appreciation over the remarkable presence of national and international companies at the largest real estate show in the Middle East and North Africa.

The significant growth of the sector matches the fast-paced economic progress in the UAE where the construction sector remains a pillar.

He stressed that the increasing number of participants reflects the advancing stature of the UAE as a global economic hub where Cityscape represents one of the most important gathering places for biggest developers in the world and the region.

He further noted that the diversity of showcased projects match various demands in the real estate sector, including standards of safety and environmentally-friendly designs.

Sheikh Mohammed was accompanied by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director-General of Dubai World Trade Centre and Dubai's Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Khalifa Saeed Sulaiman, Director-General of Protocol and Hospitality-Dubai, and senior officials.

He visited the stalls of Dubai's largest developers including Emaar Properties, Nakheel, Meydan, Al Habtoor Group, Bloom Properties, Damac Properties, Deyaar, Dubai South, Eagle Hills, Majid Al Futtaim, Meraas Holding, and Union Properties, among others.

He was briefed by the officials of the developers on the planned key projects in Dubai.
