Six people have been injured, one seriously, on Dubai roads since traffic surges across the emirate with the reopening of schools on Sunday.

Dubai Police confirmed the incidents, revealing five people were injured in an accident on the Hessa Street bridge when a truck rammed into their bus.

Colonel Saif Muhair Al Mazroui, Direct of Dubai Traffic Department, Dubai Police, further said that in another accident a man was seriously injured.

Al-Mazroui said the first incident occurred on Saturday when a bus suddenly swerved and crashed into the side of the truck.
The bus collided into the driver's side and overturned.

He confirmed the accident led to five people sustaining injuries, with one of them seriously hurt and the other four were moderately injured.

Al-Mazroui added the ambulance, rescue, police patrols and Dubai traffic police of Al Barsha station moved to the spot.

The teams collectively worked on managing traffic, preventing bottlenecks caused by curious drivers and gave time for paramedics to help the injured, while rushing some to hospital for treatment.

He pointed out that another collision occurred between a pickup truck and a minibus on Emirates Road at noon on Sunday, which led to serious injuries for the driver of the minibus.

He added that the accident happened when one of the vehicles was parked on the shoulder of the road, while the second vehicle slammed into it, seriously injuring the truck driver.
