63-year-old pretends to be young woman to cheat man, 24

SRI LANKA: An elderly woman, posed as a woman far below her age to deceive a young man and cheat him for money, ‘Mawbima’ reported.

The victim, 24, was given a mobile number and when he called the woman on the other side, she claimed to be 24-years old.

The two soon fell in love and after six months when the man asked her to meet him, he was excited to see the picture of a young beautiful lady.

Along with it he also received a note which said that she cannot meet him as her parents were not in favour of her marrying an airman. However, she promised to escape and settle down with him soon.

She also requested him to send Rs 30,000 to repair her apartment where she and the victim would be staying post nuptials.

This was not the only time the man had transferred cash into her account, he had given her a total of Rs 150,000, which was actually her friend’s  account.

Eager to meet his beloved, the man set a plot and was shocked to discover that his lover was a 63-year-old woman.

The accused rushed to the police station to file a complaint against the woman who was soon arrested.

Currently, the woman is on bail and the next hearing is on December 15.
