Colombo: Two brothers hailing from Sri Lanka’s Welimada area died following a scuffle with workers at a hotel over a cup of yoghurt.

According to ‘Gossip Lanka’, the victims - aged 26 and 21 years – had a cup of yoghurt after having dinner at a hotel last week. And when the hotel workers demanded money for the yoghurt, they allegedly picked up a fight.

The duo left the hotel, only to return with a sword a little later and allegedly attacked the hotel staff. They in turn, overpowered the brothers and attacked the duo with the very same weapon.

While one of the brothers died on the spot, the other succumbed to his injuries in hospital, said police.

Five people have been arrested in connection with the case.

Meanwhile, the hotel owner has filed a complaint claiming the brothers harassed his staff.

Welimada police is investigating the case.
