Dad impregnates daughter, mom abroad

Colombo: A minor Sri Lankan girl who tolerated being raped by her father because she couldn’t see him torture her 4-year-old brother, is set to deliver his child, reported Lakbima.

The incident came to light when teachers of her school sensed something amiss with the 15-year-old girl. They noticed her growing tummy and asked a midwife to check her.

The girl confessed that her father had been raping her since her mother took up a job abroad. She also alleged that if she did not relent to her dad’s wishes he beat her younger siblings [three brothers and a sister], and she couldn’t see the youngest brother being tortured. So she would give in to his demands, despite not liking it.

Vavuniya police have arrested the man.
